... la cosa più emozionante di "donne ad arte" è la scoperta di un mondo che vuole essere detto, la rete che si è creata di donne che vogliono essere presenti, le risposte, lo scambio, anche l'affetto - è un piccolo giovane fondo, circa duecentocinquanta pubblicazioni e volumi, ma è un inizio prezioso - prevalentemente costituito da doni di donne, di artiste -
dico sempre "benvenute" e "benvenuti", "tutte" e "tutti", "allieve" ed "allievi", mi trovo spesso di fronte a dei sorrisi a volte tolleranti, a volte ironici; mi rendo conto di essere vista alle volte come una un po' pedante, un po' femminista fuori tempo, un po' noiosa, ed in effetti è molto noioso fare questo lavoro, in quanto declinare in termini di genere il linguaggio è veramente una fatica, assolutamente necessaria, ma una fatica -
mi dicono "va bene, ma col maschile noi intendiamo tutti", e si persevera, con questo "tutti", nell'errore - a me non piace, non ho voglia di una cultura che si serve di un linguaggio maschile per dire tutto il mondo - il genere maschile e quello femminile sono sostanzialmente diversi, anche misteriosamente e magicamente reciprocamente diversi, ma diversi - ho voglia di ribadire e di valorizzare questa differenza, però ho voglia, come si dice, che ci siano pari opportunità, voglio le stesse occasioni -
questo di solito non accade -
spesso dico che violenza sulle donne non è "soltanto" fatto fisico, materiale, ma è anche negare spazio, non dare visibilità - vorrei aggiungere qualcosa oggi: è anche fare finta di dare visibilità, che è qualcosa di molto più difficile da scalzare - voglio dire, nella maggior parte degli ambienti illuminati, ed anche meno illuminati, è difficile trovare chi dica di no ad una iniziativa di donne, ad una manifestazione, a qualcosa che venga dalle donne, si sarebbe veramente impopolari - il problema è che molto spesso aderire significa servirsi delle donne unicamente come fiore all'occhiello, ma si tratta comunque di eventi, se non decorativi, secondari, c'è sempre qualcosa di più importante, centrale, urgente, significativo -
penso che, in questo periodo di barbarie e di oscurantismo, in cui la cultura maschile mostra tutto il suo fallimento, sarebbe bello ascoltare parole di donne che vengono dalle donne, ma possono appartenere a tutte e tutti, forse potremmo accorgerci di altri orizzonti, trovare nuovi sguardi, nuovi passi per camminare per le strade, nuovi modi di intendere le relazioni.
forse per cambiare il mondo, sicuramente per migliorare le nostre vite ed essere più contente e contenti -

...the most exciting part of “donne ad arte” is the discovery of a world that wants to be told, the network created by these women who want to be present, the answers, the exchange, and even the affection – it's a small young collection of twohundredandfifty publications and volumes circa, but it's a precious starting point – mostly made up of women contributions, women artists – in italian we have a linguistic distinction between masculine and feminine, and I always welcome everyone making that distinction clear including both genders, I often see tolerant smiles and ironic grins: I realise I'm seen as a bit nit-picking at times, a bit of a dated feminist, a bit annoying, and it is in fact a very annoying job to do, for declining the language in terms of gender is indeed an effort – an absolute necessary one – but still an effort. they say “it's okay, but using the masculine we mean everyone” where the generalised “everyone” in italian is, once again, in the masculine form. they wrongly persist in the use of this (masculine) “everyone” - I don't like it, I'm not at ease with a culture that makes use of a masculine language to state “the whole world” - the masculine and feminine gender are substantially different, they're also mysteriously and magically different, but still different – I have an urge to reiterate and enhance this difference, but I also want us to have, as you say, equal opportunities, I want the same chances -

I often say that violence against women is not “only” a physical, material matter, it's also denying to give space, give visibility – and I want to add something to that today: it's also pretending to give visibility, which is something even harder to get past – what I mean is that in the majority of illuminated environments, and even in the less illuminated ones, is difficult to find someone who would say no to a women's initiative, to a manifestation or anything that comes from women. one would be very unpopular – the problem is that endorsing very often means to take advantage of women using them with the sole purpose of being the show piece, where the events are secondary nonetheless, if not decorative - there is always something more important, central, urgent, meaningful -
I think that in this period of barbarity and obscurantism where masculine culture shows all its failure, it would be wonderful to listen to women's words coming from women themselves, but in a way they could belong to everyone, and maybe we could become aware of new horizons, find new gazes, new steps to walk the streets with, new ways to understand relationships.
maybe to change the world, definitely to better our lives and be more glad -
